Malibu Confidential by Oliver Peoples. The Perfect Escape.
Just imagine! Warm and glorious California sun is shining down on a beautiful beach house, set on a picturesque coastline of Malibu. Four friends are sitting poolside, enjoying each other’s company and breathtaking views. It is a sheer joy to see them smiling and peaceful. They’re young, self-confident and fashion-minded. A perfect picture of the perfect escape! This is the Spring 2021 Campaign by Oliver Peoples, seen through the lens of the renowned fashion photographer Dennis Leupold. Called Malibu Confidential, the campaign looks like it’s pulled directly from an old Hollywood movie. The scene is set in the Steinman House, a residential Malibu icon, designed by the mid-century modern architect, Craig Ellwood. The campaign features young and talented rising stars Corey Knight and Ross Butler, alongside influential models Yasmin Wijnaldum and Hannah Ferguson.
Inspired by the quintessential California lifestyle with its understated glamour, the new eyewear collection from Oliver Peoples pays homage to the bold and tumultuous times of the 60s and 70s, offering head-turning styles that feature signature acetates, luxurious metal frames, custom gradient lenses and sophisticated filigrees. Along with the new shapes, Oliver Peoples reawakens its iconic acetates, the 382 and YTB, first launched in 1987. Both styles are timeless yet modern tortoise frames, which look so neutral and flattering for the skin that it felt right to bring these best-sellers back.
The highlights of the collection include both sunglasses and optical frames in contemporary and timeless styles and shapes. The Weslie features a vintage-inspired nose bridge coupled with beautiful oval shape and refined metal frame for a sophisticated and sensual look. For those hunting for a glamorous and chic pair of glasses, the Laiya cat-eye frame with its flattering deep lens shape is just the ticket. When it comes to an everyday staple, the Casian is a perfect choice due to its strong acetate construction and bold square shape that feels unique but timeless. For those looking for a sensual and feminine touch, the Willetta and Ysela offer a 70s-inspired bold aesthetic that feels effortlessly cool. Each pair of spectacles from the Malibu Confidentialcollectionis designed with a meticulous attention to every detail to bring a sense of relaxed California elegance to the wearer.
