Eye Health: By helping to control the progression of myopia, Essilor® Stellest® lenses contribute to better overall eye health and reduce the risk of developing vision-related complications associated with high myopia.

Who are Essilor® Stellest™ Lenses for?

Essilor® Stellest® lenses are designed for children who are either already myopic (nearsighted) or who are beginning to develop myopia. For children who are already myopic, standard single vision lenses only correct myopia, whereas Stellest® lenses are specifically designed to correct myopia while slowing its progression. For children who are beginning to develop myopia, the use of Stellest® lenses can help correct and control the progression of myopia, especially if they are younger, as myopia tends to progress more rapidly in younger individuals. Therefore, Essilor® Stellest® lenses are beneficial for children both now and in the future, helping to effectively manage myopia and its progression. It's a good idea to consult with an expert at a EuroOptica store to determine if Stellest® lenses* are right for your child. FAQ about Essilor® Stellest® lenses:

Yes, Essilor® Stellest® lenses are different from single vision lenses. While single vision lenses are designed to correct vision for a single distance, such as near or far, Stellest® lenses are specifically engineered to address myopia (short-sightedness) while also slowing its progression.

Essilor® Stellest® lenses are suitable for children and teenagers who either already have myopia or are at risk of developing it.

The length of time your child wears Stellest® lenses to experience their benefits may vary depending on several factors, including your child's specific prescription, age, and eye health. Typically, it is recommended that your child wear Stellest® lenses at least 12 hours per day, every day, to take full advantage of the myopia control features.

Make an appointment with an optometrist or eye care professional at EuroOptica. They will perform a comprehensive eye exam to evaluate your child's vision, prescription, and overall eye health. During the consultation, discuss any concerns you may have about your child's progression of myopia with the optometrist. They can provide insight into your child's specific condition and whether Stellest® lenses may be beneficial in managing myopia.

Essilor® Stellest® lenses have been shown to slow down myopia progression by an average of 67% when worn for 12 hours a day, compared to single vision lenses.

In a study, it was found that the eye growth of 9 out of 10 children wearing Essilor® Stellest® lenses was similar to or slower than non-myopic children.

Additionally, 2 out of 3 children who wore Stellest® lenses had a stable need for vision correction after the first year.

Typically, Essilor® Stellest® lenses continue to be effective as long as myopia stabilizes. However, they can also be beneficial if myopia is still progressing, which commonly occurs into late teens and early adulthood.

Yes, Essilor® Stellest® lenses can be customized to meet individual prescription needs, ensuring optimal vision correction for each wearer.

It is recommended that Stellest customers have a check-up every 6 months. If the prescription has changed by 0.50DS or more at the 1st checkup (6 months), the lenses must be replaced to the new prescription.
