History
Launched in Berlin in 2003 by Moritz Krüger, Daniel Haffmans, Nils Neckel, Philipp Haffmans, Jean-Pierre Neumeister, and Harald Gottschling, MYKITA creates fashionable eyewear designed for people with various face shapes and styles. In 2004, the brand introduced its first collection No1 that included stainless steel frames cut out of sheet metal similar to origami and made following the patented design with no welded joints or screws. The collection No2 ACETATE features colorful frames made from durable acetate and includes both optical frames and sunglasses. The DECADES collection interprets classic looks in a contemporary way using ultra-thin stainless steel for production.
The LITE series features the most lightweight distinctive and simple frames manufactured by the company. MYKITA also created the collection MINT especially for Asian people filled with the brand’s concept and spirited by the culture of East Asia. In 2010, the company launched its new material MYLON that erased the border between sports and vogue with low weight, unparalleled durability, and great adjustability to get universal spectacles for sports and everyday wearing. In September 2011, the company introduced the first collection of MYLON glasses that got impressive success and was honored with the Red Dot Award in 2013.
